I read a paragraph similar to this from one of the writings of Swami Vivekanand and found it nice. Suppose there is a monkey with unstable mind, which is monkey's natural behaviour(some human also posses this behavior). He consumes alchohal making his mind more unstable. To make his unstability worse, a bee stings him. And now suppose a ghost also enters his body. Poor monkey!! Isn't he ?? Same is the case with human mind. Unstable because of his daily routine, lifestyle, interaction with different people, ideas. Similar to monkey, to make things more unstable, he drinks the alchohal of desire. Then a bee of jealousy stings him. And a ghost name proud enters his body to make the mind uncontrollable. What do you think would be the condition of this human. This is the case with all of us.
Raja Yoga deals with the internal perception of body and mind. All actions performed by us throughout the day are external in nature. We hardly spend any time thinking about what is going inside our body, where is mind and thoughts flowing, how the nerve currents flow within the body with each actions like listen, touch, smell, view. Steps mentioned below is a very small part of Raja yoga but enough for the busy and working professionals. It will calm the mind, body and bring down the anger, proud, jealousy and other evil thoughts to some extent. Calm the body and mind 1. Close your eyes. Sit straight with chest, neck and head in one line. 2. You will realise that the mind is behaving very sporadically. Let it be. 3. Watch your mind as a spectator and just watch what it is thinking. After some time you will realize that it is becoming calmer. Breath deeper 4. Now bring your attention towards breathing. Breath deeper, inhale pure air inside your lungs and exhale...
